Went for a little ride this morning

Well had a nice little 50 mile run this morning on the wet n cold roads of Essex and suffolk. These pilot road 3 tyres are even good in the cold. I think Michelin must put a little magic in these tyres they are always good to ride on.

Coming into winter update

Well my girl is now packed into my Grandparents garage for the winter. She has spent a couple of winters outside where she lives during the summer and its been hard on her but i kept her at home so i could use her if there was an odd nice day. But i'm not sure she would make it through another winter without suffering badly. I will start her up once a month or so, to dry the damp from her parts but i don't think i will get to ride her till the new year when the weather gets better.

BWOM 7- Pirates of The Arctic Circle...Pt 1

Part one of a series by Billma on youtube.

Went for a little ride today.

Was riding through Chelmsford today and saw a bloke on a gsxr wearing just jeans helmet and gloves. No top on at all.
His body will look super If he slides down the road even at just 30 mph, then the H&S idiots will be saying how dangerous bikes are etc etc. If it was u on the yellow and black bike with a black lid on park your bike until u can borrow some more brain cells you twonk. Also why wear gloves when the most fragile parts of the body are exposed already.
Hope to get the motivation to edit some of the video from the Scotland trip soon.

Well were home

Well after 2051 miles me and Viffer are home from our trip around Scotland we left on a Monday and got i got home again on Tuesday. We traveled up the west coast and around the top and down the east coast. It rained every day but we all had waterproof suits on so we all stayed pretty dry. My riding in the rain improved a lot and i realy got to use the new Pilot Road 3 tyres which were great. Got to get saving for next year now. Our pictures are here.

More new parts fitted.

I decided as my Reg/rec and generator have lasted over 90k miles to my knowledge that I would replace them before we breakdown. It would be inconvenient if one or both failed while were riding around Scotland in Sept. I got the parts from www.electrexworld.co.uk they were cheaper than genuine parts and the r/r has a big heatsink on top to help it. I did need a genuine gen cover gasket which is about £12. I soldered the gen wires to the loom of the big to make the joints more reliable.

Wow what difference a washer can make

I found out a couple of days ago that the throttle was a bit sticky. It turned out that the grip was rubbing on the bar end weight. Added a small washer between weight and handle bar and refitted and problem gone. Lots more engine braking effect now the throttle snaps shut as It should. Must be a 1st a fix without having to spend money.

Not been out a lot

We have not been doing very may rides lately as the cost of running the Vfr is more than running my old car. Also I'm trying to save mileage for our trip to Scotland later in the year. She has rolled into the 90k mile mark now so I need to treat here more like an OAP than a teen as I want/need her to last sometime yet. We went to Hereford at the start of July for my brothers wedding and had a great ride there on the Friday but a wet ride home on Sunday. It's also time for new tires again I have decided to go back to Michelin and get the PR3's as it's bound to bet wet in Scotland and there meant to be the best in the wet.

Full Members Ride to Grafon Waters 240411

The VFR has had a new oil cooler to engine pipe fitted a few days ago and today was the first proper test for it and all was well and there's now no leak under the bike. The weather was very warm so we had a good ride at a descent pace. Lead by Richard Parker and tail ended by a few people. We had some adventures today with losing a lump of the group and then the person that went backwards to round up the people marking the turns got a split in the rear tyre so had to get the recovery person to take her home. We all made it to the lunch stop bar Jill and 1 other person that got lost and all stayed as a group on the way home. Heres a few picks from the day.
PICS when i get time to edit it the will be a video as well HERE

The poor VFR has suffered a electrical fault that i had to get someone to fix for me. It turned out to be a wire under the dash area that had damage to the coating with that repaired all is well again. I had Marinus at M-Moto balance the carbs while the bike was apart and she rides like a dream again. Went out with EAMG on a full members ride to Stowmarket on Sunday and had a great ride on some nice warm cleanish and dry roads. I also got lucky and got home about 30 mins before it started raining.

1st ride of the year

We went on our 1st group ride of the year yesterday it was a great day (for the time of year) for it damp in the morning and dried up after noon. We went to Royston to a cafe called the Silver ball? so only about 120 miles all in but enough for me to get back into the feel if riding and for a descent ride on the new Conti Road Attack 2 tires. I took a few pictures before leaving the meeting place but forgot to take anymore. HERE THEY ARE. Hope you all have a great year riding and stay safe.
